Visions gone wild : Kalpitiya Development

Image stolen from here

The Sri Lanka Tourism launched the (over ambitious)Kalpitiya Dutch Bay Resort Development Project, complete with a Domestic Air Port at Uchchamunai, Under Water Amusement Park at Kandakkuliya, Golf Course at Dutch Bay, Race Course at Kalpitiya, and a Cricket Playground at Kalpitiya. The conceptual master plan has been developed by EML consultants who were the same company which was responsible for the Pinnawala Zoo project (and we all know how that turned out)

More details and a pdf file of the master plan can be downloaded through this web site

Refer here for news on developments taking place at kalpitiya

Aiyo, stupidos. We dont need all this infrastructure to enjoy nature. All the Dolphins would flee, the Bar Reef would die and mangrooves ruined. The end of the war was good. But now we need some knowledgable people advising on how to develop our country without ruining it! www.kitesurfingsrilanka.com

i don't know who you are, but certainly you are not a professional!!!!.......

have you really gone through the report submitted by EML Consultants (SEA report)? probably you wouldn't have, for you seem to be just a person listening to hear-says!.....

refer to that report, and then comment on the study. also, do update your knowledge on the ZOO project, and why it came to a halt....... who is responsible for that.........

sorry to say, most of the people are aware of it.

Well to be truthful, I haven't gone through the SEA report. is it available in their website?
I don't have to refer to reports to comment on the project because I, for a fact know that building underwater is a very very stupid idea, especially in Sri Lanka. Why would you want to do something like that anyways? If you think its for aesthetic reasons, take a look at that crappy design. A waste of tax payers money. Apparently most people don't know about the zoo project. If you have any information I encourage you to share it with us. I could upload any information that you have on these subjects. (with due credits of course)
