Augmented reality has been in the scene for sometime now, but we hadn't seen it in the main stream till recently. wikipedia defines Augmented reality (AR) as a field of computer research which deals with the combination of real-world and computer-generated data (virtual reality), where computer graphics objects are blended into real footage in real time or basically the overlapping of the virtual over the real.I recently came across GE site which had a augmented reality application within it.

The Mini one only works in IE, but the GE one works on fire fox as well.

The possibilities seem endless... ranging from interactive applications to more commercial based advertising agents. Finally it feels like were living the Future!
